Schools, in my experience, are better at advising students than they are at advising parents, and let’s face it, teenagers aren’t often the best communicators.
You just want to know what you’re supposed to do each week to support them without them feeling like they’re being nagged, right? That’s what our emails tell you.
Use our emails as an excuse for giving them good advice. Teenagers HATE listening to their parents ( ?), but when the advice is coming from experts (that’s us), they’re more likely to listen and take it on board.
I am really enjoying reading the weekly emails and listening to the podcasts. I find they give me the confidence to have surprisingly open conversations with my year 11 son without coming across as a nagging mum. We are finding a way forward that is suiting him and building up routines and trust.
